Gas Stove Maintenance Tips
A gas stove is one of the many home appliances that help save time when used wisely. It helps in preparing meals faster and easier, but it can be difficult to clean. That’s why you need to clean and maintain it.
Here are tips you may consider to help keep your gas stove in good running performance.
Clean up once spills occur. To reduce scrubbing work, wipe away quickly any spill with a paper towel or a damp sponge. Every after use, make it a habit to wipe down your stovetop.
If a spill had dried out for a while, use elbow grease and not steel wools or any abrasives. You can use an all-purpose cleaner, but never an abrasive powder that can scratch the surface of your stovetop. Use a sponge along with a 50-50 solution of warm water and vinegar, or with a baking soda solution. Rinse with water and a sponge.
Give your stove parts a regular cleaning in addition to wiping after use. Simply remove the burner drip pans, caps, burner heads, and grates except for the electric coils, and wash them by hand in the sink or soak them in a solution of warm water and liquid detergent if the manual says they are dishwasher safe. Rinse with water and dry thoroughly before replacing them on the stovetop.
Remove the control-panel knobs carefully by pulling, and clean the area around the knobs’ bases. While cleaning, make sure no water drips down into the holes to avoid causing problems with the ignition system.
Clean the oven window with a damp cloth dipped in baking soda. A clean oven window will help keep your stove efficient because you won’t have to open the door from time to time to check the food.
Maintaining your gas stove will help reduce damages and repairs. If you consider doing these tips, gas stove maintenance will be a much easier task to do. However, if something goes wrong with the stove, call us at 778-397-4850 or leave us a message.
